Echocardiographic Evaluation of Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

There is an overlap of risk factors between heart disease and COPD like cigarette smoking, sedentary lifestyle old age. The economic burden also very high. It now proven that the only strategy which can reduce incidence cessation smoking. Aim present research to study Two-dimensional transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE) findings in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary (COPD).The method all enrolled were subjected chest radiography, function test, echocardiogram Doppler study, according standard protocol. our are consistent previous studies about COPD. Total 111(60.7%) had echocardiographic evidence hypertension 83(45.4%) this cor pulmonale. We found significant difference duration smoking severity based on FEV1 values (p= 0.005). A moderate inverse correlation existed pack years scores. (r= - 0.379, P < 0.001).
